The story behind the print
This image was taken at sunset on the beach in Sayulita, watching swimmers bathe in the warm tropical ocean water. As the colours washed around them, I began playing with slow shutter speed, capturing the movement of the water and the flow of the people within it. Even though it was taken at sunset, I later explored the image in Lightroom and found myself drawn to the black and white version. The texture of the water and the softened motion created by the slow shutter gave it a beautifully ambiguous, layered feel with new details revealed every time I looked at it.The feminine form, the fluidity of the bodies, and the soft movement of the ocean came together to create this gentle, expressive and abstract black and white print.
