Frequently asked questions

Print Shop & Fine Art Photography

If the answer to your question isn't listed here, get in touch via the contact form and I'll happily answer any questions.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! I offer free worldwide shipping via trusted labs in Australia, Mexico, UK and the U.S. This ensures safe delivery and reduced transit times. Please note, customers are responsible for any import duties, VAT, or customs charges. You'll be provided a tracking number once your order is packed and sent.

What paper do you use for your fine art prints?

All of my prints are made on archival cotton rag paper, a paper I love working with because it truly complements my style of photography. The colours pop, the textures are rich and soft, and the detail is beautifully preserved. It’s a matte, museum-quality paper designed for fine art photography and made to last for hundreds of years when cared for properly. Every print is crafted to feel timeless, something you’ll treasure for decades to come.

What size should I choose for large coastal wall art?

Large coastal wall art works best in open living areas, above sofas and beds, or in rooms with high ceilings. Sizes 90cm wide and larger create a strong visual anchor without overwhelming the space.

On my website, I offer prints up to 80 × 120cm (32 × 48”), however many images can be printed larger, including sizes up to 152 × 228cm (60 × 90”). For sizes larger than 80 × 120cm (32 × 48”), please email me at emy@saltysee.com.au so I can provide a custom quote.

Get in touch if you’d like advice on which prints and sizes would work best in your space.

How do I plan and hang multiple pieces of coastal wall art?

Before hanging your coastal wall art, it’s helpful to plan the layout first. Measure the wall area you’d like to fill, then mark out the same dimensions on your floor using tape or sheets of paper. Lay the prints within that space so you can experiment with placement and order without making holes in your wall.

Once arranged, aim to leave around 7-8 cm (3 inches) of space between each piece. This breathing room helps the artwork feel balanced and allows each print to stand on its own while still working together as a cohesive set. When you’re happy with the layout, take a quick photo for reference before transferring the arrangement to your wall.

This simple planning step makes styling your coastal wall art easier, more intentional, and stress-free.

Please reach out to me at emy@saltysee.com.au for advice and guidance on this process.

Where are your prints made?

I work with trusted fine art printers in Sydney, UK, US, and Mexico. Each print is crafted with care and attention to detail.

Can I frame your prints myself?

Absolutely. Your print arrives unframed with a 5cm white border, ready for you to frame however suits your space. To get the very best out of it, I recommend using a professional framer rather than an off-the-shelf frame. My prints are made on thick, museum-grade cotton rag, a gallery-quality fine art paper made to last a lifetime, and a good framer will help preserve that longevity and show the piece at its best.

One key tip: ask your framer to mount the print onto Gatorboard. It's a rigid backing that keeps your print perfectly flat and stops it bowing or warping over time, which is especially important in humid climates where fine art paper can shift. It's a small step that makes a real difference to how your piece looks and lasts.

If you'd ever prefer me to frame it for you, I'd love to help. I mount every print onto Gatorboard as standard and frame with beautiful Australian timber, so it arrives ready to hang and made to last. (Framing available for Australian orders.)

Will my print warp or bow in a humid climate?

All my prints are made on thick, museum-grade cotton rag, a gallery-quality paper made to last a lifetime. In very humid climates, though, fine art paper can occasionally bow or warp slightly over time. The best way to prevent this is to have your print mounted onto Gatorboard when framing. It's a rigid backing that holds the print perfectly flat, whatever the weather. If you're using your own framer, simply ask them to mount your print onto Gatorboard. And if you frame through me, I mount every print onto Gatorboard as standard, so it arrives ready to hang and made to stay beautifully flat for years to come.

Do you offer framing?

Yes! I offer framing using high-quality Australian Timber Oak, along with other timber options like mahogany, white or black stain. Choose with or without a mat board to style your art with or without a floating border. I can help you select the best frame, or you’re welcome to specify your preference. Framed prints arrive ready to hang with archival materials and UV-protective glass.

Please note: At this time, framed orders can only be shipped within Australia due to the fragile nature and cost of shipping internationally. For international customers, I recommend ordering your print unframed and working with a local framer in your area.

Can I customise size or crop for my space?

Absolutely! If you’d like a custom size, format, or crop just let me know the wall or space you’re styling and I’ll help tailor the image to fit. This includes multi-panel installations and bespoke print dimensions.

Can I request a commissioned print?

Yes. If there’s a special place, surf break, or coastal moment you’d love captured, I offer custom commissions. Just get in touch with your idea and we can chat further.

Do you offer a trade program for interior designers or hotels?

Yes. I offer a trade program for stylists, interior designers, and boutique hotels that includes exclusive pricing, design consultations, and discounts on bulk print orders.

Can I purchase multiple prints for a project?

Definitely. If you’re sourcing art for a larger space or project and would like to purchase multiple prints, I offer discounts for bundled orders. Just reach out and I can help you put together the perfect collection.

How should I care for my fine art print?

Keep it out of direct sunlight, and handle it gently. I recommend framing behind UV-protective glass for longevity.

Do you sell digital files so I can print locally?

No, only physical prints and framed artwork are sold. This helps protect the integrity and quality control of the images, and maintains artwork value and authenticity.
