The story behind the print

Bailar was taken when I first moved to Sayulita in 2018. I put a call out on the local Facebook page saying I was going to swim out the next morning and take photos in the water. That next morning was the first time I ever met Mirian. I couldn’t stop taking photos of her. Her style was so beautiful and graceful, and her presence in the water was warm and welcoming. She had the biggest smile on her face. From that morning on, I kept photographing her. Over the years, we continued working together, and she’s become not just one of my favourite surfers to shoot, but also a good friend. This is one of the first prints I ever captured of her elegant style and one of the most iconic female surfers in Mexico.
